At NSLS we vary our teaching methods using videos and interesting course books as well as newspapers and magazines in the classroom. In addition we encourage our students to discover the many outdoor activities in New Zealand so that they can speak and understand English in different situations.

Welcome to NSLS
Welcome to North Shore Language School (NSLS). We are a private academy specialising in English language training for second language speakers as well as specialising in the training of teachers (TESOL).
North Shore Language School opened in 2003. We are a well-known academy with an excellent reputation. We are NZQA approved and accredited and we have been given the highest rating of Highly Confident for educational performance. This was awarded to NSLS by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority in 2010 and again in 2014. This makes us a Category 1 school. This is an achievement that we are very proud of and we feel it reflects the professionalism of all staff and the high level of academic achievement that our students attain. We also pride ourselves on providing a warm, friendly, family-like atmosphere in which all students can happily learn.
Our English language classes cater for students from Beginner level right up to our NZCEL and IELTS classes in which more advanced students can train in English and exam techniques. The classes are small (a maximum of 12 students) and this enables the tutors to give individual attention.
