“Ever Since I Was A Kid, I’ve Wanted To Learn To SCUBA Dive…”PADI OPEN WATER DIVER COURSE

PADI is by far the largest and safest diver certifying system in the world, so no matter what country you are in, your PADI qualification will be recognised.

The PADI Open Water Diver Course is the world’s most popular dive course. All you need to do is be able to swim (200 metres using any style with no time limit), be medically fit to dive and complete the online eLearning course.

All the rental gear is provided (subject to body size) with your course; just bring a pen, your togs and a towel.  Registration can be done: online, in store or by phone.

Learning to dive is a great time to start putting your own dive equipment together. Many students start with a simple mask, snorkel and fins combination and build from there. Others may wish to purchase all their own dive equipment for their course.

To help you get your own dive gear, we offer you 10% off any individual dive equipment (except packages) bought from our store for your course. This offer ends when your course is completed. Take a look in-store at our popular Gear Packages, they are a great way to save money too. We will help with expert advice.

Our aim is to prepare you for the fascinating adventure of diving.  We want to make your diving safe and enjoyable, remember, your safety is our number one concern. After your PADI Open Water Diver Course, we can offer you a most comprehensive range of diving experiences including: dive trips, local diving and over 20 PADI Specialty diver courses.

As part of your course, you are an automatic member of our Dive Crew.  There are no club fees, we just take you diving.

If you have any questions please call, email or stop by our Dive Store.

  • New Zealand Sea Adventures was established in 1990 by Tony Howell in Titahi Bay. From that beginning the NZ Sea Adventures name grew and became the leading PADI scuba diving training facility in Wellington. On the 12th of October 2000 NZ Sea Adventures was awarded the Wellington Regions only PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre rating. After 14 years the NZSA shop was moved out to Kilbirnie where it remained for four years. In 2008 we moved back home to Mana in Porirua. Here we have continued training excellent Scuba Divers, supplying the best dive equipment available and much much more. Having our own on-site dive pool certainly helps.

New Zealand Sea Adventures is Wellington’s senior Technical diver training facility. We offer TDI courses from Enriched air/Nitrox right through to Advanced Trimix, including Instructor level training and Rebreathers.

The ocean is our greatest life source and the most amazing place to be in. This is why NZ Sea Adventures has always helped, supported and educated our divers in ways to help our environment. We are a PADI award winning Go Eco Operator and we run regular underwater cleanups and the Project AWARE Course for FREE, as we strongly believe you cannot put a price on caring for our oceans. ...
