Enhance your skills with this highly practical hospitality management course which includes modules in computer literacy, real-life event management, team building and leadership.

This intensive programme you will learn key business administration skills to gain an understanding of business compliance requirements. Starting the legal framework, you will move on to basic accounting, how to cost menus and understand hospitality business costs. You will learn how to write staff rosters and select, build, train and appraise others to create effective, high-performing teams.

HOSPITALITY & EVENT MANAGEMENT
You will gain first-hand experience planning, organising and supervising a series of NZSFW events. You will learn how to write staff rosters and select, build, train and appraise others to create an effective team.

COMPUTER SKILLS
You will learn how to confidently us a computer in a business environment and study Microsoft Excel and Word to create templates, write reports, create budgets, manage stock control and food and beverage costs.

INTERNATIONAL WINES
You study WSET Award in Wines and Spirits Level 2. This highly regarded international qualification is recognised as an important pathway to senior roles in hospitality.

WORK EXPERIENCE
During the programme, you will have two weeks work placement in some of Auckland’s premier restaurants and hotels.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Aged 18 or over
Completed NZ Certificate in Food and Beverage Level 4 or NZ Certificate in Cookery(Advanced) or equivalent industry experience
Attend an interview in person or by telephone
IELTS 6 or equivalent for international students*
Valid student visa for international students
Laptop with Microsoft Office 2003 or later
* English language pathways available.
