“Your Next Step in Underwater Adventure”

Exploration, excitement and experiences are what the PADI Advanced Open Water (AOW) Diver course is all about. The AOW course is designed for both new and more experienced Open Water Divers and is best attended as soon after your Open Water Diver course as possible. That way you will increase your confidence and build scuba skills to become safer and more comfortable in the water; all under the supervision of a PADI Instructor.

The AOW course consists of five dives that includes a: Deep and an Underwater Navigation dive. Popular local options for the remaining three dives are: Peak Performance Buoyancy, Naturalist, Wreck, Fish Identification, Imaging, Night, *Enriched Air or *Dive Against Debris (* conditions apply).

You may choose to add the: Enriched Air and/or the Dive Against Debris Specialty qualifications to your weekend experience. Simply ask to: include these dives as part of your five dives, complete the on-line study and a short practical, pay a small fee – and go diving. These Specialties count towards the prestigious PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

Pay your deposit and you can begin the AOW theory. Make sure your dive medical is current, then join us for a weekends fun diving. After everything is completed, you will qualify as a PADI AOW Diver. This is the minimum requirement for our dive adventures and a prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver course.

If you have any questions, please call so we can help you.

  • New Zealand Sea Adventures was established in 1990 by Tony Howell in Titahi Bay. From that beginning the NZ Sea Adventures name grew and became the leading PADI scuba diving training facility in Wellington. On the 12th of October 2000 NZ Sea Adventures was awarded the Wellington Regions only PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre rating. After 14 years the NZSA shop was moved out to Kilbirnie where it remained for four years. In 2008 we moved back home to Mana in Porirua. Here we have continued training excellent Scuba Divers, supplying the best dive equipment available and much much more. Having our own on-site dive pool certainly helps.

New Zealand Sea Adventures is Wellington’s senior Technical diver training facility. We offer TDI courses from Enriched air/Nitrox right through to Advanced Trimix, including Instructor level training and Rebreathers.

The ocean is our greatest life source and the most amazing place to be in. This is why NZ Sea Adventures has always helped, supported and educated our divers in ways to help our environment. We are a PADI award winning Go Eco Operator and we run regular underwater cleanups and the Project AWARE Course for FREE, as we strongly believe you cannot put a price on caring for our oceans. ...
